Notes on Photographing the Art of Nature.
Occasionally I like to pull out images of one location I have photographed over a period of time. Reviewing them together often reveals things about my photographic experience of which I might not be fully aware.
I tend to choose familiar places that offer a great deal of visual variety. The results of this pattern form a body of work that depicts much of the character and ecology of my oft-visited locations.
My photography is a study of relationships. it is an ongoing lesson taught by nature about the wonderfully complex web of life of which we are a part. I believe it is natural that this learning process manifests itself in the photographic image.
My challenge for this project was to try to go beyond the limitations of my experience and open myself up to seeing the natural world from a larger and more mature perspective. As with any creative endeavor there were many moments of joy and satisfaction as well as times of frustration and setbacks. Overall I am happy with this collection of work. I hope that you will find these images enjoyable and informative.
